Last night while I was watching the news on channel 5 they had a report of gas priced under $2.00 a gallon. In Winchester Tn there is a station selling regular unleaded gasoline for $1.98 a gallon. I almost spit out my beer when I saw that price. It is a two hour trip to Winchester but it would almost be worth a road trip to fill up for that price. Well almost. I think I will wait for the price to fall to that level here, we are at $2.50 or so at most of the stations in Nashville, not a bad price after paying over $4.00 a gallon just a few weeks ago. I hope we get down under $2.00 a gallon here very soon.
Fall is my favorite time of year, the kids are in school so I have a bit of free time during the day to keep caught up. The weather is wonderful with warm days and cool nights perfect for sleeping with the window open, and most of all it is the time of year that the leaves turn, the only downfall is that the leaves also fall into my yard and have to be raked up and hauled off. Other than that this is the best season by far. I can wait for the real cold weather I like it like it is now highs in the 60′s and the lows in the 40′s with fall getting the least amount of rain of all the seasons it is a perfect fit.
For the first time in a long time the price of gasoline has dropped below $3.00 a gallon and today I heard on the news that the price of a barrel of oil was down to $78 a barrel, if so that means the price of gas should go down a lot more than it has already. I can not wait for the price to go back to where it should be, I am tired of paying the high prices that the Arab Oil Hijackers have demanded for a long time. We need to drill for our own oil and tell them to go to hell, if we do not have enough then cut back. We need to do a lot more stuff the old fashioned way no matter who it pisses off.
This is a huge weekend at our house the Red River Shootout is Saturday, being from Oklahoma this is a huge football game at our house all activity stops and everyone gathers around the TV and watches, we can only hope that we will be watching an Oklahoma victory this year. We have had a rough time beating Texas the last few years and going into this huge game as the #1 team in the country might be a burden that the boys can not hold up to. Let us hope for a big victory for the team from Oklahoma today.
