Tomorrow this great country gets a fresh start, we put into office our next President. I did not vote for him and would never vote for him but lets hope he gives the country a chance to rebound from the last 8 years of hell we have went through with Bush. I do not think Obama was the right person to lead us out of the wilderness but he got the votes and we are stuck with him for 4 years at least. Lets hope that tomorrow gives us a start on a new beginning for this country.
When it turns cold I tend to fix food more for the comfort and warmth than the ease of cooking. So I make a lot of soups and chili to keep on hand for the kids and for me too for that matter. Good wholesome warm food is always a good thing when the weather turns cold, last night I made a brisket in beer sauce it turned out fantastic and everyone loved it. The entire house smelled of the chili sauce in the recipe and when I walked in from work that was a very nice smell let me tell you. Today is going to be left overs and soup so get ready it is a day of rest for me today.
I really do love the summer time in Tennessee. It is not as hot as it gets in other places this year we will not hit more than 97 degrees on the thermometer and we have had a good amount of rain up until August anyway. Last year was so dry and then in the fall when it began to rain it got so green so fast it was amazing. When the leaves turn after a year with an abundance of rain like this year it will be majestic. We have cool nights in the summer I remember as a child in Western Oklahoma the nights were so hot and not a breeze moved most nights we sweltered at times. I am so glad that I live in Tennessee now and do not have to worry about the hot weather suffered by other areas.
We took our 5 year old grandson fishing this weekend and it was a mess, I guess we should of left Buster at home but he likes to go fishing too who would of know that as a dog it was also his job to get in the water and bark at every noise, kinda made it a short day when he busted his leash and escaped. OH WELL David got to catch a couple of small bass and he had fun, I enjoyed being outside on the grass with the family, so it was a good day.
